Vintage: 2006
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Appellation: Paso Robles
Acid: 6.28
PH: 3.56
Aging: 10 months in French Oak
Alcohol %: 14.3
Tasting Notes: 100% Pinot Noir

The 2006 Unbridled Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County shows aromas of cherry, cinnamon, and garden herbs with rich flavors of strawberry and seasoned French oak. The mouthfeel is full and bright from beginning to end.

Ratings: Best of the Best - "Best of Show"
"Ultra-ripe black fruit nose; lush, opulent, well-concentrated, black cherry and toasted nut flavors - heavenly stuff!"

Wine & Spirits - May 2009
Rated 90 Points
"Dense crimson hue. Inviting scents of plum, cola and sandalwood. Juicy flavors of wild cherry, red raspberry and cassis. Silky tannins and layers of vanilla, cherry and cola on the close."

Vineyard Notes: This bottle of Unbridled Pinot Noir is comprised of three vineyards located in northern Santa Barbara County. Found on the west side of the Santa Maria River are Garey and Sierra Madre Vineyards. Their sandy soils and close proximity to the Pacific Ocean allow the vines to naturally produce lower yields, which results in concentrated fruit and even ripening. Southwest of Garey and Sierra Madre, in the highly acclaimed Santa Rita Hills AVA, is Gaia Vineyard. The smallest appellation in the state, Santa Rita Hills is bound by the La Purisima Hills to the north and Santa Rosa Hills to the south. Amid powerful winds and mild maritime influence, this region also experiences lower yields similar to those of Garey and Sierra Madre Vineyard.
Food Pairing: Pair this fabulous Pinot Noir with wild mushroom risotto or mandarin duck.
